Hey guys, nice show (as usual!). I enjoyed hearing about your trip to Julian: I believe we drove through that place a couple of years ago on our way to the Anza-Borrego desert. That would have been in October, but I didn't know about the apple pies unfortunately. Great Shelob story too.
I enjoyed hearing all the WWFM stories too, even though I didn't take part in one this time. I started listening to Podcacher at about the time of WWFM II last November, and I remember laughing out loud at some of the creative ideas. It was that that encouraged me to host a WWFM III. Hopefully some of the great stories this time will encourage even more new hosts for WWFM V. Fishing in the fountain was my favourite one of this batch so far.
Thanks for reading out my milestone too. Right now there are 216 caches within 16 miles of me (although I've done 267 including archived ones). I compared with your zip code 92079, where there are 1596, so quite a different prospect! It was a bit like whac-a-mole getting from 15 miles to 16. It took me very nearly two years to expand that last mile, mainly because of new caches being planted (I only did 125 caches to reach 15 miles).
I just looked at your Flickr set. Sonny, you never mentioned your new haircut!

Sonny and Sandy, thanks for the great show. From your show and from reading the forums it sounds like lots of folks had a great time in the WWFM events. |

Glad you guys enjoyed SuperSean! After you mentioned how much he enjoyed his "Superman Pose" I knew it just had to be done.
But... well... I felt a little bad that Sean and Sonny both have superhero identities but Sandy doesn't... so... Ladies and Gentleman...

Well done Child of Atom! The amazing Cache Woman can spy a nano cache from 10 miles away and can hear an LPC being lifted from halfway around the world.
By day she plays the role of Sean's mom and Podcacher Afficionado. It is a clever guise but we are not fooled!

umm, thats not a good sound to hear from any distance!
I really wish I could have been a part of the WWFM this time but instead I was spending my last day with my family just relaxing. I'll be sure to help organize an event the next go round in Korea since I don't think they have hosted one yet. _________________ I'm a cache-a-maniac!

Sonny, I hear you about the frustration about not being able to get the logs out of some cache containers. It always seems like they're the caches that are in high-traffic areas, so you feel really vulnerable when you're trying to dig it out. I had one a few weeks ago that was a 35 mm film can, but the log was really fat and a bit wet, making it quite tough to get out of the container.
In general I find I get annoyed with caches that don't seem incredibly well thought out. The LPC and micro in the woods style caches are bothersome because they don't usually show much creativity or thought. Let's just drive around until we find a good place to put this container! I like the ones that take a little thought and advance planning. _________________ Bagpipes rule.

I enjoyed hearing about the WWFM even though I could not make this one. I thought the idea of the two WWFM events that spoke via phone was really cool. It would be interesting to have that on a bigger scale for a future event. Maybe if each WWFM called one other and got a call from one other, we could form a chain...sort of WWFM around the world. |

Fun show, as always.
When Sonny asked me to record the intro, I didn't realize he was desperate for a lead-in! Really scraping the bottom of the barrel, using me
I wasn't sure if I would make it to the Flash Mob. I was working in Alaska until Wednesday of the same week. It was quite a shock going from mostly below freezing to normal San Diego weather. I managed, though.
Thanks to daisybones for propping up the Douglas Adams milestone. I'm glad someone else got something out of the goofy idea. P.S. I like that name - more creative than mine, which is a lame pun on my given name.
Oh, and PapaEGTH, I liked the story. So what honors did you get, and what did the President say? _________________ Be where you are. |
