| How do you feel when people have trouble finding your cache? |
This happened twice today, and the feelings associated with the DNF logs were very different.
First, we had a DNF on a cache ("Life is Suite" TB Resort & Cache Spawn) that we placed near a small river. We were careful to keep it high enough that it would avoid most floods, but after the recent VERY rapid snow melt, the waters came high. It was found only six days prior (and after the melt), and therefore should have avoided the flood waters. The container is a very large ammo-type can and should be easy to find. So, the feeling on that one was (is, haven't been out to check it yet!) fear.
The second was on a brand new cache (We Wood Eaven Put A Cache Here) that we put out on Friday. Now, this cache is designed to be hard to find! We were even careful not to give too much info in the listing. We're hoping for a bit of fun watching DNFs roll in! So, a DNF (from a cacher we've met on the trail) today made us very happy!
So, I guess there's more to the question than just how does a DNF on one of your own caches make you feel! _________________ Geocaching: Our best family day ever!

I haven't personally had any scary critter stories, other than the occasional gator...startling more than anything else. We did have one that was about 10 feet long that nearly kept us from continuing down the path to a cache (was trying to find a pic, I know one was taken, but it was about 3 years and many caches ago), but we just gave him a wide berth and continued to the smiley -- oddly enough, the name of the cache was The Search for Gators! We found one!
Oh yeah, in looking through some old pics, I found this log from a friend that has pictures of me playing Croc Hunter with an Eastern Diamondback.... _________________

Rather interesting. i would LOVE to have a dog like that, but my wife would go hunting FOR the snakes... shes basically a Herpotologist(?sp) without the degree. do the dogs Ever find the caches first? Do they have their own account?**Remembers a previous show......**
DNF on LPC... Thats sad. 'sick twisted pleasure' Verry Simple. NUMBERS!!!(visit www.itsnotaboutthenumbers.com)
I'd love to try 1 a day(placed) out here, but they'd almost always be a LPC. Also, it usually takes about a Week to get a cache published out here(they are that busy!)

I love Toys! Small little expensive ones. The ones that tell me where to go and how fast I'm speeding at the same time. |

Yes. I am the director of technology for a public school district. I block all podcasts other than PodCacher on our wide area network.

Hi all,
I noticed that since a few shows,
the intro does not use the term "GeoCaching" anymore,
but rather only "Caching".
How did that decision come about.
Anything to do with wanting to distance yourself from the big site?
I wouldn't blame you, after their decision about PodCaches.

PS, It was fun to hear my friend AV Dezign's voice in French for the intro.
I had been meaning to send a French into in, but it's only fitting that
Andre, a long time listener, would be the one to record one.
Plus he's got a lot of time on his hands, with his twisted ankle.
Get well soon AV. |

Cache bag..
Sonny, did you spray the bag with silicon spray?
That would help keep moisture out of the fibers...
I wish people had problems finding my caches..
And I have been in California, but well North of where you are in Lompoc..
Nice area especially in December...
BUZZ CUTS!!!
Did mine last weekend..! |

Scary run-ins with critters? Only this one so far:
http://www.podcacherforums.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=717
Thanks for playing my 100th find milestone audio - that was fun to hear. It may not be long to #200 - I got another 20 this past weekend.
Oh - and I was glad to hear Sonny chuckle at my joke about the Lithuanian ham with his Morse key on his bike seat. When there was no response to it in the forum, I was wondering if I'd inadvertently offended.
The idea of snake dog training is fascinating. We have a rattler or two here in Arizona. Sadly, I gave up both of my dogs when my wife and I divorced, since I'm now in a small apartment, so I'm pet-less for now. I'll definitely look into that training when I get my next dog, though! _________________ There it is! No, wait...

I have one cache I hate getting DNF's on. I was never quite happy with the placement of the cache, and then the cache itself as originally placed was muggled, and a TB went missing from it. Then a first part of the short multi was muggled as well. Then I have one cacher who despite all my hints, and basic -walk up to here and reach in here- can not find the cache.
I've finally gotten tired of that one, so I've scheduled it for removal. Just need to get around to pulling it. |

So in my defense everyone should view the cache page! (GCZTWY) You'll see the pic is a Altoids Tin which is painted black and has a magnet. How could I have known it was a skirt lifter! hahahahaha Sonny's is not a skirt lifter so I feel I was decieved!
The cache a day project has caused a big mess for me! There is a FTF contest for the project. The winner will recieve an unactivated FTF geocoin. Here is the problem! 3 of the caches so far were foundd before being published. One because an astute cacher followed my tracks in the snow and two because travel bugs were placed in the cache and people had those travel bugs on thier watch lists. Because of the cache name they knew where more or less the cache was and went and found them.
Now who do I give credit to? It is a big mess and a hotly contested topic!

Ugh! Just got another DNF on this one. Sounds like the flood waters may have come into play. We'll have to get out there and search. Fiddlesticks! _________________ Geocaching: Our best family day ever!

I'd give FTF honors to the first ever finder, but I just wouldn't count that cache in the contest. Just my opinion... _________________ My Blog
