Was a surprise to hear my own voice on the podcast. Another great show. Looking forward to hearing from Mohammed (mhfares) - a real legend in this region.
A great story about the caching in the Mussandam Peninsula with the various German, Saudi and US cachers getting together. That is one of the chance encounters that I really love about this region. Similar to the caching 1/2 a world away with czar7 - really look forward to meeting in person sometime in the future too. |

Sonny you might want to avoid the Ferret - the clutch is a preselector which requires skill and some muscle to operate effectively and the steering wheel is tilted the other way, i.e. away from you
When we had one attached to the Regiment it was always in the shop being maintained between Exercises so ran very well - I'm not so sure that one in private hands would get the TLC they seemed to need in order to be operational |

Loved the show! I want to go to the desert!
I think I have to agree with the guys about the caches on bases. If they're not available to the public then how is that fair? I know it's a great activity for our people in the service, but I don't think these caches should count if they are off limits to people. You may argue that the cache on the ISS is in the same category. Probably so, but if you have the time and money you can go get it. Money wont get you on a base. And if these bases are consider US soil, then I would also argue that the caches on them should be considered US as well. Want one in the foreign country then go off base. This thinking probably flies like a lead ballon to a lot of Americans, but I think these guys make a point. I'll be putting my shields up now. Go ahead and throw rocks.
Three cheers to the Bristol Family Robinson. What an awesome story!
And to Sonny and Sandy - A three year old is just a two year old with experience... |

Just a comment - FLICKR is a blocked site here in the UAE - i.e. the government prevents a number of sites for "security" or "content protection" basis (a type of censoring) - and Flickr falls into that category - so we can not see the Flickr photos |
