Idiot! is all im going to say about the picture. What is/was he thinking, was it a child placing the cache, if so their dad needs a smack on the head, if he is an adult, he should be charged for been stupid.
Ok rant over! but seriously that is just reckless and if id have found the cache i would have removed it same time and had it archived. _________________

I haven't listen to the show, but.... I'd make a big stink about that questionable cache as well. Blue and yellow wires? C'mon. Every knows you use either blue and red or black and white. Being serious, the only way I'd place a cache like that is on private property where literally everyone at the place knows about it. That pretty much limits the options. |

First of all, loved the shoutout for Runkeeper Pro running app for the iPhone. I'm just curious do you ever use the live tracking option to allow people to watch your runs live? The fact that you mentioned this on the show must be an indicator that you're foot has healed up and you're back out running again. I don't use it as much in the winter time as I do most of my running inside on the treadmill. But I'll get back to it here in a month or so once it's warm enough to get back outside running again. When's your next big race Sonny??? I'm humored by the "stalker" comments I get on my runs when they post on Facebook that I'm headed out.
I've done a little benchmark hunting. Doesn't really turn my crank. I did come across one one time by accident along a river I love to fish in the summer time. Saw it just off the trail running along the river. Couldn't find it on the website. It was relatively new, within the past 5 years or so.
I guess if you knew what you were looking for was 3 sticks of dynamite was no biggie, then who cares. But give some warning if that's what you're hiding so as not to alarm people when they do find it. _________________ If you ain't first, you're last!!

Went for the first run yesterday in maybe 8 weeks. It's a bummer to have lost some cardio and muscle tone, but I'm SO glad to be able to get out and run again. Toe is still a little sore but definitely on the mend. _________________ Have you found it yet? |

Okay, so I am catching up on some episodes.
I enjoy finding benchmarks. There is actually a really cool one in downtown San Diego in a little fountain plaza to the north of Horton Plaza. Here is a picture. It is called "San Diego Zero Milestone".
I have also seen a cool one at Thomas Jefferson's home Monticello in Virginia. It commemorates the Lewis and Clark expedition. There is an article in the "Caching Now" webzine here.
I agree with Redlights that benchmarks are sometimes more interesting than caches. I have even seen them in Disneyland.
Thanks for the show.
