PLEASE, do NOT do as instructed on Podcacher and leave caches in a better state than they were found. Texas has plenty of caches and does not need to take them away from the other 49 states.
Love the intro to the support plea. Seems like I may have 'heard" that somewhere before (picture winking emoticon here).
Another great show! |

Forgot to toss in my two cents on events held just to go caching. GroundSpeak may not allow/condone it, but it happens.
I don't think it should happen if the group is going to be limited to just a certain group of people (clique). It shouldn't be to go after a puzzle cache that one or two people have solved.
It should happen if a group has rented a bus or two (did that once, had a blast).
It does happen after regular events. I'm okay with that because it usually happens when people start talking about what caches they need or have had trouble finding. In that case a good mix of people go out together.
One of my favorite caching stories was at an event (not sure if it was a GC event or if we cachers just got together). We found that at this get together everyone but one person had found this difficult cache on the other end of the mall parking lot. So we decide to all go and watch this one person find the cache.
Well, that person had trouble, so another cacher decided to help. A few minutes later another helped. It wasn't too long before there were seven cachers all trying to find this cache was hidden, and six of them had found it before. Couldn't find the picture of this crazy hunt. But it was the result of cachers attending an event together.
So, maybe if they just take away the restriction and don't advertise it all will go well. |
