FTP
or technically second to post since Sandy is always first to post.
Looking forward to another show and see if that new show music from show 356 is still here or if the old music is back.
Not on iTunes yet, will wait so I can listen while I am out riding my recumbent tricycle tomorrow. Painting With Light - I've seen some cool photos but nothing like a logo, great photo! _________________ Woof Woof! |

Logging an archived cache - Log it if you found it. I got FTF on an archived cache. The coordinates had been put in wrong on the cache page, so the owner archived it. Quite some time later I came across it looking for the 3rd stage of of a 4 stage multi. Imagine my surprise when I came across a blank log! I don't know how the previous finders of the 3rd stage missed this large container under a rock pile, but then they probably wondered how I missed a 35mm film cannister sitting out in the open about a foot above the rock pile.
I have to ask though, even thought the cache was archived, the cacher did not know this. So if he had not found the cache would he have logged a DNF or just let it go? I would have logged the DNF. More than likely no one but the cache owner would see it, but I'd tell the story anyway.
Moral of the story is I believe the cacher's streak continues.
Do the numbers count? I'm a part-time numbers person. What does that mean? Some times I'm an FTF hound. Some times I lke the number runs. I sure enjoyed filling in the calendar, and later this year if all works well the 2 blank spots to complete the Jazzmer Challenge. But as I remind new cachers, we at started at zero with a blank slate. If you just stick with it the numbers go up and the blank spots get filled in. So don't worry about that stuff. Just go have a great time caching. |

Thanks for mentioning my Diversified Cacher Contest. A shorter URL is http://tx.ag/denise and just look for the link in the sidebar. _________________ If you hide it, they will come!

On the DIY micro (2 liter bottle) containers -
I don't want to preach but from someone who solders electronics - Please don't solder plastic as heating the plastic will create harmful fumes. While soldering electronics it is advised to be done in a well ventilated area. Solder flows a lot easier than plastic does, meaning it will take longer and more time with these fumes.
I've seen half of one of these DIY containers the opposite of the cap end was closed off with epoxy. The cap end also had a hook fastened to it which suspended it from a tree. So they are very versatile containers. I've never made one of these but have placed a few of the soda preform tubes. _________________ Woof Woof! |

Sonny! The study of words is etymology. You said ENTOmology, which is the study of... bugs. Common mistake though. _________________ My Blog!

Regarding logging of Archived caches. IMHO, if the cache container is still there and you've signed the log, then you get your smiley. I've been in pretty much the same situation with having gone and signed a log only to find out later it's been archived.
I also know of at least one puzzle cache that's still in it's location but was archived because it's now pretty much unreachable. It's in a park, but in an area that's no longer accessible. The broken down bridge you had to cross is now barricaded off. While I won't swim across the creek to get it I've been contemplating getting a kayak (not just for this cache) and if I do, I'll go over and log the cache and grab and return the container to the owner (yes I know the owner.) _________________ I'd rather be caching! |

I agree. If the cache owner doesn't want people to log it, then they should pick up their geo-litter. |
