The maps on the cache page don't (or should that be "do not") make too much difference to me. I normally use the Google Earth Viewer that is available on our GC.com profile pages (near the bottom right if you scroll down) if i want to check out google satellite imagery. _________________

Maps - There's still the satellite view that I like to zoom in on for caches around creeks and rivers (which thanks to the rain finally means something again). I like the extra choices in maps. Overall - good change even if it was forced by $$$$$$$
Sean Update - Firstthing I thought of when you said he does not use contractions was Data. And the second thing was Dr Seuss, and in particular Green Eggs and Ham. Maybe he is deciding he would like to be a lawyer so that he can outlaw the serving of Brussel Sprouts to anyone younger than 20. |

The lack of contractions thing cracks me up. It's so funny to hear him say it so seriously. _________________ Have you found it yet? |

I like the "OpenMap" maps, because they often have very detailed trail maps as well as the road maps, and are more helpful for parkland areas because of it. So... one positive.
But I do have two negatives: the default satellite imagery from Mapquest is just horrendous. It's tiled poorly, outdated and washed out. But worse... the new maps load too slowly, if they load at all. _________________ My Blog!

One thing I've noticed is that the Geocaching App on the iPhone is still using Google maps. _________________ Have you found it yet? |

I agree. I like the trails being on the map. |

For instance, Sonny... you mentioned having trouble finding the trailhead for your recent 3.5/3.5 find? Well... looking at the new maps, I'm fairly certain you probably went in on Denning Drive/Rancho Santa Fe Road, right? The intersection of the trail (called the "Horned Lizard Trail" it seems) is pretty easy to see on the OpenMaps map. You can make out the trail on the satellite image at Google, but that's because you are lucky enough to live in an area that doesn't really have tall trees! _________________ My Blog!
