Here are some more Mad Mad Mad World caches.
The top one is still active. The other 4 have been archived. They had come out in 2008 and they are placed where key spots in the movie where filmed.

Finally got it an listened.

I love it when someone does the intro in a foreign (to me) language. Gives a show idea I'll post in that section.

Centimeter resolution. This really got me to thinking. When I meet new cachers or see their logs that complain about the accuracy, I give my long speech about how things are more accurate now, but you still have to look, and especially on older caches, and blah, blah, blah. Many of us have given this same speech.

But I wondered what we would do with centimeter accuracy. Would have to purposely make coordinates slightly off? Using Fizzy Calc I quickly determined no one will have to do anything as long as the coordinates we use are limited to three decimal places. I my area that means a given coordinate will put you in rougly a 10 foot circle. So, even though the GPSr could do better, the coordiantes will still give enough leeway to keep the game fun.

Centimeter resolution.
... for Japan.

Eventually we will all have more precise geolocation available around the world but there will be differences given the age of the hide, the receiver used by hider and seeker, and the novelty of the camo employed. Precision location will not ruin geocaching. Restrictive legislation and those that want to regulate others on public lands is a greater threat to our past time.

And thanks for the 30K shout out Sonny and Sandy! Smile

Megastones inspire others so make them matter!!! Very Happy
