Hey Sonny and Sandy- wanted to let you know that we here in Florida had 3 Flash Mob type events in one night over in Jacksonville,Fl back in Dec. All 3 were put on by Icecream Man who you have talked to in a past show. The links placed below are to those past events. Crying or Very sad I wish I could have made it to any of them, but I was on call for work on the other side of the state at that time. Crying or Very sad

Sandy, thanks for posting the pictures of our Caching Storybook!

The book really came out great and the pictures don't do it justice.

For those that are interested in it, check out:

Enjoyed the show!

You mentioned the GPS screen protectors; you should check out the Invisible Shield at http://www.shieldzone.com. Their screen protectors are almost indestructible and have a lifetime warranty.

Great show! Thanks so much for playing my message, and apologies for its length. See, you had that show about how you work your magic to pare down rambling messages, so.... I rambled. Anyway. you're absolutely right, the loon call is emitted from a stuffed animal loon. In fact, the loon's now on the dashboard in my updated profile.

And thanks, too, for the link to my Geocache Eiffel Flickr set. It's a fun way for me to keep a memento of every cache.

We enjoyed the show. Funny thing...any event that I've attended recently, folks are looking for my iRiver around my neck. I went to an event between the Cabelas and moonpie events, and was asked why I wasn't recording it.

In regards to our "roving"...we live in the southwestern corner of PA. The WV panhandle is only 1/2 hour away...and the Ohio border is not much further away. It actually took us longer to get to the moonpie event than the Cabelas event.

Whoops, we goofed. It's on the next show, the wrap up to show 99. Sorry for the slip up. I just changed the text of the shownotes for show 99 to read "mo' betta".

Yup, I missed that tutorial, too, 'cause that box is gorgeous!

On another subject, there have been some issues about geocaching between my hubby and I. When he first signed up, he really wanted me to geocache, but I wasn't too interested for a few reasons. The biggest was that I was lucky if I got my hands on the one GPS our family owned at the time -- four of us using one GPS -- no fun. So at that time, he was more into it than I was. But, when I finally got my own in June of 2005, I left them in the dust and never looked back. I really enjoy it, and LogBear lets me go at it because it gets me off of my rear and out doing something. We do still cache as a family, but usually on vacations, like over this past spring break.

Enjoyed both this podcast and the S&S interview on Cache-a-Maniacs!

We also went to a backyard barbecue yesterday with an Easter Egg hunt. Kind of felt like the junior geo-rangers had an unfair advantage over their muggle cousins. No surprise, they found the most eggs, including the more difficult hidden and coveted money eggs. Finding brightly colored plastic eggs is no sweat compared to spotting micro and nano caches in the field! Laughing

Will have to bring some camo colored eggs to next years hunt to make it a challenge for them! Twisted Evil Wink

Great topic on Flash Mobs! That may be a new cache event trend spawning a Micro Event & Special Icon. And why not, GS differentiaties Mega Events and organizing a flash event sounds like it would be easier to pull off!

Have you checked to see if you need to get a special "assembly" permit for Balboa Park? We have been involved in poker runs on lakes before and one time the event organizers failed to apply for an event permit for Lake Norris. Residents along the lake called law enforcement during the poker run as 150+ boats blasted by. Sounds like they have to be quick if your event lasts only 15 minutes, but best to check just to be safe, and avoid any unpleasant fines.

Keep up the great show!

Great show as usual. I'd never heard of those micro events before, I might have to see about hosting one in Minnesota (I think it would be the first).

I'm also gearing up for my first 12 of 12, but I never quite get the hang of Thursdays....
