Our coin has been locked.
If you wanted to discover it in order to get into the contest, then log a reply in this topic.
Please don't log here if you have already discovered the coin at geocaching.com. We have your name! Also, please don't post in this thread about the "locking" issue. Let's leave this thread for "discoveries" only. Thanks.
The contest ends April 29. _________________ Cachin' with my sweetie...

I am ashamed to say that I had taken note of the number but that I forgot to discover it!
I guess the "lock" is part of the new rules! |

ok, why has it been locked? I heard about it on the show, then tried to log it. I came here to see if anyone else ran into this, and of course, they had. _________________

OK, After spending several months at work with nothing to do but listen to podcasts, I now have a "real job" and I haven't been able to listen as much as I would have liked lately. Just this morning, I finally got up to show 98 where you mentioned the coin, and I tried to discover it but found it blocked. Well, I shoul dhave made time for PodCacher sooner so that I could have gotten my discovery in before it was too late.
Thanks for giving us latecomers a chance to still get in on this one!

I sent you $1.50 rebate to your paypal account to reimburse you for the fee that Groundspeak assesses on every trackable coin seeing how you can't use yours anymore.
end rant

There was a time when there was a lot of abuse with virtual coins, I guess they are cracking down on all forms of it now. _________________ Andre Vandal

The thing is, the coin belongs to the person that purchased it. And as an owner of coins I would be *very angry* if the took away any of my coins. Because that is basically what they have done......
Will they be offering the owners of these coins or TB tags a refund for the now inactive products? My guess is NO!
I am sure this is some sort of "uses too much website time and space" argument, but hey too bad. You promised this service when you sold, or agreed to allow the products to be logged on the website.
If this is an issue then Groundspeak needs to start charging more for the tags or for trackable icons to cover their expenses, but not go back and take away what we have already paid for. _________________

I agree completely! As with the SOLDIERS ANGELS OF GERMANY coin, now if someone actually retrieves it or sees it, they can't log it. I really thing Groundspeak needs to deal with this issue soon. The way they are currently handling it is not cool at all.
And as far as server space or bandwidth, how is it any different from coins and TBs at an event being discovered by the attendees? It could be hundreds at a time depending on the event. If space and bandwidth are the issues, then perhaps they should find a way to increase the capacity so as to continue being able to provide the services a lot of us pay for.
I am not normally a complainer, but as a premium member, this has truly irritated me. _________________

Hmmm... maybe we should start an online petition for groundspeak to stop that practice? We could do an online one open to premium members and/or trackable item owners. _________________ My Blog

I've got to admit I was late to the ball to discover this coin - sometimes work gets in the way. I normally listen to the podcasts on my way to/from the office, but have been off the freeway for a couple of weeks and didn't jump on it right away. Oh well. By the way, congrats on the 100th show!

Anyway, I would have liked to discover it, so I'll just make my mark here. |
